This is an introductory meeting to our new Introduction to Backpacking Series. Come on out to one of two introductory meetings in April to find out more about the series. During the time, we will also cover some important topics such as:
• preparing your body for a backpacking trip
• planning a trip
• choosing gear
• packing a backpack
• Leave No Trace
The introduction to backpacking series will consist of 5 day long backpacking hikes throughout the eastern part of the Alleghenies region from May through September with an overnight opportunity in October. Each day hike will travel a different trail through the area and will have a special focal point for learning about backpacking.
