Lakemont Park & the Island Water Park

Known as the 8th oldest Amusement Park in the United States has been in business since 1894. Lakemont Park's most valued possession is the Leap-the-Dips Wooden Roller Coaster.  This wooden roller coaster was built in 1902 by the E. Joy Morris Company. This is the world's oldest roller coaster.  Lakemont Park restored and re-opened the Leap-the-Dips on Memorial Day in 1999.  The Leap-the-Dips became a National Landmark in 1996. There are many attractions for everyone at this amusement park.  Children rides include Activity Pool, Kiddie Go-Carts, Ferris Wheel, Coaster mini Monster Trucks, Pony Carts, Sky Fighter, and Wet Boats.

Family Rides include Antique Cars, Train, Arcade, Games, Merry Go Round, Paddle Boats, and Swimming Pool.  Young Adult and Adult rides consist of Water Slides, Toboggan, Twister, Skyliner, Tilt a Whirl, Octopus, Go-Carts, Round Up, Scrambler, Skydiver, Ferris Wheel, Bumper Cars, German Swing Chair, and the World Famous Leap-the-Dips Wooden Roller Coaster.  Park is open for Amusement Rides from June to September yearly.  From November to January you can visit Lakemont Park's famous Holiday Lights on the Lake Winter Wonder display.  Contact Lakemont Park at 814-949-7275, 700 Park Ave, Altoona, PA 16602.
